Tricia Salerno
Chief Executive Officer
Singapore Math NOW!, LLC
As founder and CEO of Singapore Math NOW!, LLC, Tricia Salerno is a pioneer in the United States Singapore Math consultant community. After practicing Singapore Math in the classroom for years, Salerno realized there was a gap within the industry to train other educators on the Singapore Math learning style.
Salerno began by introducing Singapore Math to Benchmark Charter School in Phoenix. Due to her efforts, the school became one of the first in the United States to implement Singapore Math as a core curriculum. Serving as a teacher and math coach at Benchmark, Salerno taught grades kindergarten through sixth grade in addition to starting an honors program in Singapore Math. After the first year of implementation, the math scores in Salerno’s class moved from an average of 88 to 97 percent. Today, Benchmark continues to implement Singapore Math and is frequently featured as being among the highest-rated schools for math in the state.
Due to this success, Salerno is asked to share her experiences with other schools implementing Singapore Math. In 2008, Salerno along with a Benchmark colleague, Sherri Adler, formed SMARTTraining, LLC, to share their expertise. Salerno has trained teachers and executed seminars throughout the United States and at the American School in Switzerland. She is a featured speaker with the Bureau of Education and Research for the past three consecutive years in addition to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference and numerous charter school groups.
In 2010, Salerno launched her own company, Singapore Math NOW!, LLC, to publish resource books that compliment the Singapore Math curriculum. Salerno authored Math Sprints, for grades one through five, to help teachers incorporate the principles of mental math into the classroom. Additionally, she wrote Review Singapore Math (RSM), a 180-problem workbook that reviews curriculum from the previous school year. Since the launch, Salerno continues to push the envelope in developing new Singapore Math products under the Singapore Math NOW! umbrella.
Salerno earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Wake Forest University. She went on to get a Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame. After 15 years of practicing law, Salerno returned to her teaching roots to find her true vocation. In 2004, she received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education.
